Storage products are primarily tanks used for the storage and transportation of water. Moreover, they can be produced for various purposes and designed according to different standards based on these purposes. Various standards and regulations are established to produce water tanks. These standards are applied in the design, production, installation, and maintenance stages to ensure the safety, performance, and quality of the tanks.
Similarly, in other countries, various standards and regulations related to the production of storage products are available. In the United States, for example, the production of storage products is regulated by standards such as "American Water Works Association (AWWA) D100-11." This standard covers various aspects related to the design, production, installation, and maintenance of tanks and is applied to ensure their performance and quality. As a result, tanks can be produced for various purposes and designed according to different standards related to these purposes. In our country, there are some standards.

These standards are as follows:

TSEK (Turkish Standards Institution Certificate): This is a conformity certificate issued by the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE). This certificate indicates that products and services comply with the specified conditions of standards published in Turkey.

ISO 9001:2015, ISO 9001:2008, and ISO 22000:2005 Certificates: These are quality management system standards published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). These standards require an organization to establish and implement a quality management system that regulates and aims to improve its business processes.

OHSAS 18001:2007: This is a standard established to protect the safety and health of employees in workplaces. This standard requires an organization to establish and implement an occupational health and safety management system.

CE Marking: This indicates compliance with European Union directives for products produced in European Union member countries. This certificate is necessary for products to be sold in European Union countries.
These certificates demonstrate that the materials used in the production of storage products, the production process, and the quality of the products comply with specific standards. This ensures the performance and quality of the tanks are guaranteed.

What Raw Materials Are Used for Water Tanks?

Although storage products are manufactured using various raw materials, it is most suitable to produce them primarily from polyethylene, polyester, and stainless steel. This is because these raw materials have their own durability and lifespan characteristics. We will explain these three raw materials in detail.

1) Polyethylene Water Tank:

Polyethylene is a polymeric material used as the raw material for polyethylene tanks. Polyethylene is resistant to water and other chemicals, lightweight, flexible, resistant to breakage, and has a low coefficient of friction. Due to these properties, polyethylene is ideal for the storage and transportation of water, such as polyethylene tanks. Additionally, due to its high heat resistance, polyethylene tanks can also be used in industrial facilities undergoing heat treatment processes.

2) Polyester Water Tanks

Polyester is a polymeric material and is used as the raw material for polyester tanks. Polyester is resistant to water and other chemicals, lightweight, flexible, resistant to breakage, and has a low coefficient of friction. Due to these properties, polyester is ideal for the storage and transportation of water, such as polyester tanks. Additionally, due to its high heat resistance, polyester tanks can also be used in industrial facilities undergoing heat treatment processes. Its chemical resistance is also quite high.
The raw material used for polyester tanks, which is polyester, can be produced in various diameters and thicknesses, making it suitable for different applications based on these characteristics. For example, thinner polyester is used for low-pressure tanks, while thicker polyester can be used for high-pressure tanks.

3) Stainless Steel Water Tanks

Stainless steel is a corrosion-resistant and chemical-resistant material, and it is used as the raw material for stainless steel tanks. Stainless steel is obtained through various heat treatment processes, and the choice of stainless-steel tank raw material can vary depending on the properties of this material. Stainless steel is resistant to water and other chemicals, lightweight, flexible, resistant to breakage, and has a low coefficient of friction. Due to these properties, stainless steel is ideal for the storage and transportation of water, such as stainless-steel tanks. Additionally, due to stainless steel's high heat resistance, stainless steel tanks can also be used in industrial facilities undergoing heat treatment processes.

The raw material used for stainless steel tanks, which is stainless steel, can come in various types, and the properties of these types can differ. For example, among stainless steel types, there are various options such as 304 and 316 types, and the levels of corrosion resistance of these types differ.
